Welcome to Lauren Deane Counselling and thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

Deciding to open yourself up to counselling can, for many, be an intimidating task. I strive to make the counselling experience as comfortable as possible, while understanding that ultimately counselling can be difficult.

At the end of the day, my goal as a counsellor is to guide you through a process that leaves you better able to manage in your daily life. It is not just about feeling better during our time together, but being able to translate this to the rest of your life that marks success.

Do you need counselling for alcohol or drug use?

Admitting that you have concerns about your alcohol or drug use can be difficult for many people. I work with a wide range of clients from those that consume substances daily and feel they have an addiction, to those that have noticed their use starting to escalate and want to make sure that it does not get out of hand.

Maybe you have tried a 12 step program and do not feel that it was right for you? Maybe you don’t want to attend group therapy? Maybe you don’t feel ready or in need of an intensive residential treatment program? Whatever the case may be I am here to work with you in a way that fits your life. I offer individual counselling sessions to help you define what you would like to change and help you make those changes in a compassionate, understanding and non-judgemental way.

Do you have a loved one with an addiction and need someone to talk to?

Watching someone you love deal with addiction is really hard. You may feel like you are always unsure. What is enabling? How do you set boundaries and stick to them? When should you step back? Why won’t they just stop? I support loved ones as they go through this difficult process and help them answer these challenging questions in a way that works for them.
